Privacy Policy
This policy explains what NukeAlert collects, how we use it, which third-party processors help deliver the service, and the controls you have over your data.
1) Data We Collect
When you use NukeAlert we may store the following: account data (email address, account identifier, hashed authentication credentials, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information returned by Google OAuth); profile data (your chosen nickname and related profile text); community signals (your community risk votes on articles — High risk / Low risk — your emoji reactions 👍 🔥 😢 😠 🤝, and your upvotes/downvotes on comments, each stored with timestamps and your account id); comments and reports (comment text you post, comment timestamps, and reports you submit on other users' comments, including reporter account id for moderation); device and notification data (push notification token/subscriber id via OneSignal, app language, and basic device/OS info required to deliver notifications); and technical logs required for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. We do not collect precise device location.
2) How We Use Data
To authenticate you and keep your session secure; to enforce one community risk vote per user per article and one reaction per user per article, and to compute crowd-weighted risk scoring and reaction totals; to display your nickname next to your comments and community signals; to moderate reported comments and prevent abuse; to deliver push notifications about risk-level changes and relevant news if you opted in; to translate the UI into your selected language; and to improve data quality, ranking, and reliability of the service.
3) Third-Party Processors
We use the following service providers to run the app; they process data only as needed to provide their service: Supabase — authentication and database backend for account, voting, comment, and report data; Google — OAuth sign-in, when you choose to continue with Google; OneSignal — delivery of push notifications to your device. We do not sell personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers.
4) Push Notifications
If you grant notification permission, a device push token is stored by OneSignal and associated with your account so that alerts can be delivered. You can revoke notification permission at any time from the app or from your operating system settings; revoking permission stops further notifications from being delivered to that device.
5) Data Retention and Deletion
Account, vote, comment, and report data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time using the in-app Delete Account action. Deletion removes your account and associated voting, comment, and report records according to backend rules. Some minimal records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
6) Your Rights and Controls
You can sign out at any time; change your nickname from account settings; disable push notifications from the app or device settings; delete your account from Settings; and contact the app owner to exercise any additional rights available under your local law.
7) Children
NukeAlert is not directed to children under the age required by your local law to consent to digital services. Do not use NukeAlert if you are below that age.
8) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected in the version and date shown above.
